Which months suit a trip to these hotels?

Think spring blossom or autumn colour: those are the gentlest seasons in this corner of the South. July and August are sticky and hot, yet that is precisely when the outdoor pools, the WinStar Cascades and Geyser Falls are running; a number of pools shut for the cooler half of the year, so look up season dates first. Winters are usually mild, though Oklahoma and Arkansas can get the occasional ice storm.

What is the easiest way to reach each hotel from a plane?

Driving, nearly always. Fly to SHV for the four hotels in Shreveport and Bossier City, to TUL for River Spirit or Hard Rock Tulsa, to MEM for Tunica, to LIT for Pine Bluff, and to DFW if WinStar is the goal. Shuttle services are added and dropped, so phone the hotel to hear whether one runs while you are there, and at what price.

How old must the person at the front desk be?

No single answer covers all ten, and some hotels set different ages for different room types. Plenty of resorts in this region want the name on the booking to be 21 or older. Get the rule from the hotel before you pay, particularly if someone younger will be the one picking up the keys.

Which charges might turn up beyond the nightly rate?

Resort or amenity fees, parking, cabana hire, water-park tickets and a refundable deposit are the usual suspects. Request a full breakdown from the hotel and read it before entering any card details.

Can we bring the children?

At some of them, yes. Geyser Falls at Pearl River Resort is the most child-friendly attraction in this atlas, and several pools set aside family hours. Elsewhere some spaces are strictly grown-ups only; look up the house rules for whichever pool, spa or venue matters to your family.

Do you take bookings?

We don't. This atlas never sells rooms or holds reservations. Every Check availability button lands on the property's official website, so the reservation is settled directly with that hotel.

Why does Horseshoe Bossier City lead the atlas?

Our publisher owns it. Horseshoe Entertainment, the company behind this site, operates Horseshoe Bossier City as part of Caesars Entertainment, and that ownership is the only reason the hotel is first. Cards two through ten are ordered by editorial judgement.
